The history of diamond cuts can be traced back to the end of the Middle Age. The rose cut is believed to have originated in India; but another contention is that it was actually developed in Holland, and the earlier Indian versions were crude forms of this cut. However, the rose cut got popular during the latter part of the sixteenth century.
Colorless Diamonds: The colorless diamonds categorized under the highest color grade. These diamonds are of pure quality and thus are very expensive. They are very rare as well. The colorless diamonds are free from any chemical defects or impurities.
Synthetic diamonds have lesser flaws than natural diamonds, as their crystals are grown under controlled conditions. The flaws and inclusions in natural diamonds add to their beauty. The unique colors that natural diamonds have, cannot be exactly reproduced by synthetic diamonds. Synthetic diamonds have unique carbon inclusions, which mark them distinctly different from natural diamonds. Still, there is plenty of color variety to choose from blue, pink, white, yellow and orange.
Carat: One of the other and essential property of diamonds is the Carat weight. In terms of diamonds, carat plays an important role. Mainly the Carat denotes the weight of the diamond and more the weight of a diamond, more pure it is and expensive as well.
