As compared to natural diamonds, lab created diamonds don't harm the environment. Natural diamonds, as they are mined from under the surface of the earth, cause a lot of environmental hazards. On the other hand for lab created diamonds, there's no question of environmental hazards, as they are not mined from under the earth.
Glass cutting: Small pieces of diamonds are used for cutting glasses. The small portions of diamonds are also used for drilling the rocks. The hardness of the diamond is the main reason why diamonds are preferred for doing such cutting and drilling activities. You must have also heard that a diamond can cut a diamond and that is true. A small portion of diamond can be used for making a cut in large diamond pieces.
Diamond is the hardest mineral on earth, thus, it is very difficult to spot scratches and scuffing on it. But, if you own a fake diamond, you will find that it is full of light scratches and scuffing. Just hold a magnifying glass against the stone and you will be able to see these light blemishes.
Princess cut diamonds were created in the 1960s. In terms of popularity, they rank second in the world after the round brilliant cut. The shape of the face of the princess diamond is square, while the side shape appears like an inverted pyramid. If the quality needs to be assessed, always look for the sparkling aspects in the diamond which produce a dazzling effect. Princess cuts have more glittering facets (usually more than 58) than a round cut.
