Diamonds are examined mainly by the 'four Cs': carat, clarity, color, and cut. They are measured in carats; one carat equals 1/5th of a gram. These gemstones also may show different colors like white, yellow, brown, pink, red, blue, purple, green, violet, and orange. Out of these, the white, yellow, and brown ones are most commonly used. A diamond's color can be determined by studying its face up and down. Their clarity determines how pure they are, and the ones having less blemishes and inclusions have better clarity. Cuts in diamonds enhance their color, shine, and hide inclusions. If the cuts are too deep or shallow, the gemstone will not have a good dispersion. Pear, emerald, marquise, and brilliant are the most popular diamond cuts.
For my money, I believe the best choices are quality Moissanite stones or the new diamond stimulant gemstones available from Diamond Nexus Labs.Marquise Style Diamond Engagement Rings
Wedding jewellery is the most significant part of the overall ensemble of the bride as well as the groom. Donning wedding diamond jewellery at the wedding functions is not just about adding the glamour and glitter to an ensemble, it is more of a style statement that you make, and which talks about your dressing etiquettes as well as your sense of style.
One of the best ways to compare real and fake diamonds is to see through them. You will see that a fake diamond is just like glass. In order to differentiate between the two, take a black pen and make two tiny dots on a white sheet of paper. Now, place a real diamond and a fake diamond over the dots. You will find that the real stone breaks off the reflection of the dot, which makes it impossible for clear perception. However, the fake diamond is made of glass, so you can see the dot clearly. Another test is the newspaper test. If you go to a shop to purchase diamonds, never look at them over the jeweler's white tray. Ask for a newspaper or a printed piece of paper. Place the diamond over the print and see through it. If you can read the alphabets or designs printed on the paper through the diamond, then it is a fake. Spotting vague black marks or spots also proves that the diamond is a fake. If your diamond is mounted, check the bottom. If you can see the bottom while looking at it directly from the top, then the stone is mostly a fake one.
