An orange diamond usually gives hues of various other colors, such as, pink, red, yellow, purple and orange, of course. Sometimes, orange diamonds may need to be synthetically enhanced to upgrade their quality. Then, there are the brown diamonds, which are the least popular amongst the colored diamonds. However, in the brown diamonds category, those marketed as "cognac" are gaining huge in terms of popularity, at present.

Amor Pistis Diamonds, August 07th , 2017. Natural diamonds are ideally mined at depths between 140-190 km in the Earth's mantle region. They are retrieved from carbon-containing minerals, that are formed over billions of years. The ores containing these carbon minerals are usually part of the spewed magma that surfaces during volcanic eruptions. They cool to form igneous kimberlite and lamproite rocks. Synthetically, diamonds are produced by using a high pressure and temperature, and exposure to chemical vapor. Synthetic diamond variants such as the cubic zirconia and silicon carbide are created to replicate appearance and properties of real diamonds. A cut is done to shape a diamond, prior to polishing the stone. There are a number of cuts adopted to make jewelry with diamonds, such as:
Sela Anamarija Diamonds, August 07th , 2017. They studied the rough Cullinan for almost three months and prepared themselves for the big day. On 10th February, 1908, Joseph Asscher decided to cut it. On that afternoon, he struck a hammer on a V-shaped groove that he had made on the diamond, by placing a cleaving blade in the grove. The result was that the blade broke apart in two, but the diamond still remained intact. Soon, another blade was arranged and Joseph Asscher made his second attempt to cut Cullinan. He was successful in his second attempt and the diamond broke apart, just in the way he thought it would. Legend has it that Joseph Asscher fainted after cutting the Cullinan. The two parts of Cullinan weighed 1,040 carats and 1,977.5 carats each.
Rashmi Jameela Diamonds, August 06th , 2017. There are two types of cuts on a diamond. The first one is the actual shape of the diamond, of which there are several types. The most common types of diamond cuts are brilliant (round), princess (square), oval, marquise (eye-shaped), emerald, pear, asscher (squarish octagon), cushion, trillion and baguette (long rectangle). These cuts define how the diamond is studded into jewelry. The princess cut and the brilliant cut are the most common types you will find. The cuts should always be perfect to refract the right amount of light through the upper surface.
Mari Holzer Diamonds, August 07th , 2017. Even the role of coal in diamond formation due to subduction of tectonic plates is negated with the theory that subduction mainly happens in oceanic plates, as compared to continental ones. It is contended that in case of oceanic plates, the main sources of carbon are limestone, dolomite and marble. Plant debris is found in meager amounts only.
