Although the gradation process exists from ancient ages, 20th century has seen more standardization based on the colors that are accepted worldwide. Mainly three organizations are responsible for this standardization of gradation system.
Diamonds are more bright in comparison to cubic zirconia. It is due to the fact that their refractive index is 2.41, whereas that of the latter is 2.17. Cubic zirconia is also shows more vivid play of colors, as its dispersive power (0.060) is higher than that of diamonds (0.044).
Natural diamonds are forged deep in the belly of earth over millions of years, under high temperature and pressure conditions. From there, they are pushed towards the surface through volcanic vents. Finally, through the mining process, they are collected, then cut, polished and finally sold.
